Nice curiosity - Big stupa
It is only worth to stop quick to appreciate the massive stupa, but right there on that busy noisy road... Not far though is the residence of Dodrupchen rinpoche, who is not going to be around for long, as one of the last great masters.

Nice one
It was established by buddhist Monks and followers of dalit lama. It is famous for 100 feet stupa. It is very nice.

A ‘not-to-be-missed-out' monastery’on your way to North Bengal and Sikkim
On our way to Bengal safari from McNest @ Uttorayon, at the outskirts of the bustling city of Siliguri, just before the Sevoke Road Military Station, is this famous Tibetan Monastery, which is also known as 'The Great International Tashi Gomang Stupa'. It can be easily located along the left side of the road to Sevoke, near the auto stand of Salugara. This is one of the most revered monasteries of the Buddhist pilgrims traveling to Siliguri. The prime attractions being the (i) very artistic architecture of the entire premises, (ii) spectacular 100 ft. tall stupa, detailed with intriguing designs that is founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche. This stupa of Salugara Monastery is revered by the monks as it is said to bring out five kinds of relics of Buddhism. (iii) compound walls (both outside and Inside) that are artistically painted with murals of Tibet. (iv) photogenic prayer hall, again wonderfully painted. While most monasteries are serene and tranquil, Salugara Monastery struggles to preserve them, as it is on the extremely busy Sevoke highway that leads to Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Gangtok and beyond, located just a couple of kilometres away from the fast expanding city - thanks to the army. However, the inside is engulfed with peace and tranquillity.

Salugara Monastery
Established by Tibetan Buddhist Monks and followers of Dalai Lama, the monastery is famous for the 100 feet stupa founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche. This monastery also known as The Great International Tashi Gomang Stupa and is situated just 6 km away from the main town. This monastery also contains five kinds of Buddhist relics.
