Salugara Monastery, also known as The Great International Tashi Gomang Stupa, is a sacred Buddhist shrine located near Siliguri in West Bengal, India. This monastery is a place of peace and sanctity, embraced by the lush greenery typical of the North Bengal region. Established by Tibetan Buddhist monks and followers of the Dalai Lama, it houses a 100-foot stupa founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche. This venerated stupa is believed to embody five kinds of relics and is known as a place for meditation and spiritual learning, attracting monks and tourists alike. The monastery is adorned with intricate Thangka paintings and houses several relics of Buddhist spiritual leaders. The serene ambience, combined with the distinct architectural style, makes it a unique place for introspection and study of the Mahayana Buddhism philosophy.
