Sarahan is a small picturesque village in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is nestled amidst mountains and apple orchards and is renowned for the Bhimakali Temple, an architectural wonder and religious sanctuary that merges Hindu and Buddhist styles. Besides its breathtaking natural beauty and diverse flora and fauna, Sarahan offers visitors a tranquil retreat from the hustle of city life. This place is often referred to as the gateway to Kinnaur, sitting at an elevation of approximately 2,150 meters above sea level. Sarahan is also known for its terraced fields, pheasant breeding farm, and the nearby Sarahan Bushahr palace. The climate is pleasant for most of the year, with cold winters. The village provides a panoramic view of the snow-covered Himalayan ranges, and the Sutlej River meanders down the valley.
