Travelers can book flights with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which offers regular flights to Skardu, depending on weather conditions. Once in Skardu, the lake is approximately 14 km away to the south of Skardu city.
If you prefer an adventurous road trip, you can travel to Skardu from the capital city, Islamabad, by road — a journey that encompasses approximately 650 km and takes around 20-24 hours depending on road conditions and weather. The common route is via the Karakoram Highway (KKH), followed by the Skardu Road. Public transport buses and coasters run services to Skardu from different cities. However, for a more comfortable journey, renting a private vehicle or jeep is advisable as this allows for stopovers and dealing with any unpredictable terrain or weather conditions.
