Best Time To Visit Seven Sisters Falls (Cherrapunjee) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Seven Sisters Falls, Cherrapunji

The Seven Sisters Falls, also known as the Nohsngithiang Falls, is a spectacular sight in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, India. The best time to visit these falls is during the monsoon season, which typically stretches from June to September. During this time, the region receives abundant rainfall, and the water levels are at their peak, making the waterfalls truly magnificent. The monsoon rains breathe life into the seven segments of the falls, ensuring they cascade with full vigor down the limestone cliffs of Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on earth.

Travelers looking for a more leisurely experience with less rainfall might consider visiting during the post-monsoon months, from October to November. During this time, the heavy rains have subsided, but the water flow in the falls remains good, offering a pleasant experience with fewer disruptions due to rain. The lush greenery from the monsoons still envelops the area, and the weather is relatively cooler and more comfortable for exploring the surrounding landscapes. It's important to note that during the dry season, which runs from December to May, the falls may have significantly less water or could even be completely dry, so planning your visit accordingly is crucial.
