Similipal National Park Tourism

Similipal National Park, located in the Mayurbhanj district near Baripada, Odisha, India, is a wildlife haven spanning over 2,750 square kilometers. It's part of the Similipal-Kuldiha-Hadgarh Elephant Reserve and is recognized as a Tiger Reserve and a biosphere as well. Its name is derived from the abundance of red silk cotton trees known as 'Simili' in the area. The National Park is a treasure trove of biodiversity with dense forests, striking meadows, and shimmering waterfalls like Barehipani and Joranda. It is home to a variety of wildlife including, but not limited to, Royal Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, Leopards, and an astounding variety of avian species. The park's terrain is hilly, with Sal trees dominating the landscape. Additionally, it is an area of great geological value, featuring the Similipal Massif with raw magnetite deposits.
