Best Time To Visit Somasila Dam (Nellore) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Somasila Dam, Nellore

The ideal time to visit Somasila Dam in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, is generally between October and March. During these months, the climate is predominantly pleasant, with moderate temperatures that make it more enjoyable to explore the area. The monsoon season, which typically ends by September, replenishes the reservoir, and the dam is often full and majestic in the following months. This period is perfect for sightseeing, photography, and indulging in the serene environment as the weather is neither too hot nor too wet, with clear skies and a vibrant natural palette that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

It is advisable to avoid the summer months from April to June, as the temperatures can soar, making it quite challenging to visit outdoor sights comfortably. Similarly, during the peak monsoon season from July to September, heavy rains could potentially disrupt travel plans and the region's beauty might be obscured by continuous downpours and overcast conditions. Thus, for a more comfortable and visually rewarding experience, timing your visit to the post-monsoon and winter months ensures that you can fully appreciate the splendor of Somasila Dam amid Nellore's natural beauty.
