Early Beginnings

The tourism industry in Phuket began to flourish in the 1980s, with the island becoming increasingly popular among international travelers seeking sun, sand, and sea. As demand for diverse tourist experiences grew, the concept of a water park was conceived to provide a family-friendly activity that could complement the beach visits and cultural tours.

Rise of Splash Jungle Water Park

Splash Jungle Water Park officially opened its gates in January 2010, becoming Phuket's first water park. It was developed with the aim of providing a thrilling aquatic adventure for both tourists and locals. Settled in the northwestern part of Phuket, at Mai Khao Beach, the water park is part of the Grand West Sands Resort & Villas, offering easy access for resort guests and independent visitors alike.

Contributions to Tourism

The water park quickly established itself as a must-visit destination for families and adventure seekers. Featuring a plethora of water slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river, the park caters to all ages and excitement levels. Splash Jungle’s distinct offerings not only enhanced the allure of Phuket as a versatile destination but also helped in diversifying the tourism industry by attracting a segment keen on recreational activities beyond the conventional beach pursuits.

Additionally, the park has observed an increase in tourists looking for exclusive VIP experiences, such as private cabanas and personalized services, aligning with a broader trend in luxury travel.

The Pandemic Impact and Recovery

Splash Jungle Water Park had to adapt to new health and safety regulations, which led to the introduction of enhanced cleanliness protocols. As travel restrictions have been lifted, there's been a resurgence of tourists in Phuket, and Splash Jungle is once again thriving as a popular destination, contributing positively to the island's post-pandemic recovery.
