The ideal time to visit Suru Valley is during the summer months, from late June to September. During this period, the weather in the valley is most conducive for travel and tourism, with the snow having melted away and the roads becoming accessible. The daytime temperatures are pleasant, ranging between 15°C to 25°C, making it perfect for outdoor activities such as trekking, mountaineering, and sightseeing. Meanwhile, the nights can be cool, so visitors should pack accordingly.
In contrast, the winter months from November to February are extremely harsh, with heavy snowfall leading to road closures and temperatures plummeting well below freezing point, often going down to -20°C or lower. This is not a recommended time to visit unless you are an adventure seeker looking for the challenges of extreme winter. The spring (April to early June) and autumn (late September to October) seasons are transitional periods in Suru Valley, where you might experience sudden weather changes and cold nights. During these times, you should be prepared for occasional snowfall and brisk temperatures, especially at higher altitudes. However, the landscape during these seasons are equally stunning with lush greenery in spring and the golden hues of autumn.
