By Train

From Tokyo: Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station. From there, transfer to the JR Nikko Line and get off at Nikko Station. The total journey time is approximately two hours.

From Asakusa: Take the Tobu Nikko Line limited express from Asakusa Station directly to Tobu Nikko Station. The journey takes about two hours.

By Bus

From Tokyo: Direct buses run from Tokyo's Shinjuku Station to Nikko. The trip can take about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic conditions.

By Car

Self-Drive: You can rent a car and drive to Nikko. The city is about 140 kilometers from Tokyo, and the drive typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours via the toll roads.

From Nikko Station to Toshogu Shrine

Bus: From JR or Tobu Nikko Station, take a bus to Toshogu Shrine. The ride is about 10 minutes.

Walk: It is also possible to walk from the station to the shrine, which should take about 30-40 minutes.

Taxi: Taxis are available at the station. It's a short ride to the shrine.
