How to Reach Turin, Italy

Turin, known locally as Torino, is a vibrant city located in the Piedmont region of Italy. Renowned for its rich history, stunning architecture, and delectable cuisine, it's a must-visit destination for travelers venturing through Europe. Here's how you can reach the city:

By Air

Turin Airport (TRN), officially known as Turin-Caselle Airport, is the main international gateway for visitors flying into the city. Located approximately 16 kilometers northwest of the city center, it offers both domestic and international flights.

• Transportation from the airport: You can take a taxi, a rental car, or the public bus service (such as the SADEM bus line) which connects the airport to the Turin Porta Nuova and Porta Susa railway stations.
• Car rental services are also available at the airport.

By Train

Turin is well-connected to the Italian railway network, with high-speed trains such as Frecciarossa and Italo offering connections to major Italian cities like Milan, Rome, and Venice.

• The city's primary train stations are Porta Nuova and Porta Susa, both centrally located and accessible by public transport.
• International train services also link Turin with France, for example, from Paris via the TGV service.

By Car

If traveling by car, Turin can be reached via the Italian autostrade, which are the national highways.

• Major highways connecting Turin include the A4 (Turin to Milan), A5 (Turin to Ivrea and the Aosta Valley), and the A6 (Turin to Savona on the Ligurian coast).
• Remember that driving in Italy requires a valid driving license, and non-EU license holders may need an International Driving Permit.

By Bus

An array of intercity buses connect Turin with other Italian cities and European destinations. Companies such as Flixbus, Baltour, and Eurolines offer budget-friendly options.

• Buses usually arrive at and depart from the main bus station, Autostazione Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, or from the newer Autostazione Torino Stura.
