The Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area is one of Guilin's premier attractions, showcasing a majestic water system that incorporates natural and man-made lakes as well as rivers winding through the city. The best time to visit this stunning location is typically during the late spring to early autumn months, from April to October. During this period, the weather in Guilin is pleasantly warm, which is ideal for enjoying a leisurely boat tour or a tranquil stroll along the waterways. April and May offer the fresh green of spring, while September and October provide comfortable temperatures with less rainfall. Tourists should note that Guilin's rainy season occurs in May and June, which can lead to higher water levels and sometimes even enhance the beauty of the landscape, though it might disrupt outdoor activities.

Peak tourist season in Guilin is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is hot and humid, but the natural scenery is lush, and the landscapes are vibrant. While this is the most popular time for visitors, it also means that attractions can be crowded, and prices for accommodation and tours may be higher. Travelers looking for a more peaceful experience and cooler climate might prefer to visit in the early autumn, particularly in late September and October, when the weather starts to cool down, and the fall colors begin to appear, offering a picturesque backdrop for the Two Rivers and Four Lakes. Regardless of the season you choose to visit, the area is illuminated beautifully at night, offering a completely different experience after sunset.
