Welcome to Verona, Italy

Verona, the city of love and romance, and famously known as the setting for Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet," offers a range of transport options for visitors looking to explore its rich history and culture. Whether you are traveling by air, rail, or road, reaching Verona is convenient and straightforward.

By Air

Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN), also known as Valerio Catullo Airport, is the nearest airport to Verona city. It is located around 10 km southwest of the city. Upon arrival, you can take the Aerobus, which provides direct service from the airport to Verona’s main railway station, Verona Porta Nuova, with a journey time of approximately 15 minutes. Taxis and car rental services are also available at the airport.

By Train

Verona is well-connected to the Italian train network. The primary railway station, Verona Porta Nuova, serves as a major junction for northern Italy’s rail lines. High-speed trains such as Frecciarossa, Italo, and other regional services offer connections to major Italian cities like Venice, Milan, Rome, and Florence. Travelers can book tickets online, through mobile apps, or directly at the railway station.

By Bus

Verona can also be reached by long-distance buses, with regular services connecting it to various Italian and international cities. The main bus station is adjacent to the Porta Nuova train station, making transfers between bus and train convenient for travelers.

By Car

For those wishing to drive, Verona is accessible via major highways. The A4 motorway connects Verona with Milan to the west and Venice to the east, while the A22 runs north-south, connecting the Brenner Pass with Modena. Please note that Verona has a Limited Traffic Zone (LTZ) to reduce congestion. Parking outside the LTZ and using public transport to get into the city center is recommended.

Once in Verona, the city's attractions are best explored on foot due to the compact nature of the historic center. However, there is also an efficient public bus service that operates throughout the city for longer distances.
