Best Time To Visit Wat Arun (Bangkok) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Wat Arun in Bangkok, Thailand

Visiting Wat Arun, known as The Temple of Dawn, is a magical experience and timing your visit can greatly enhance the experience. The temple is renowned for its stunning architectural beauty and historical significance, making it one of Bangkok's must-see attractions. The best time to visit Wat Arun is early in the morning, just after the temple opens at 8:00 AM. At this time, the crowds are thinner, and the soft morning light bathes the temple in a gentle glow, offering serene views and the perfect lighting for photographs.

However, if you are interested in seeing the temple living up to its name as the Temple of Dawn, then a visit at sunset is ideal. As the sun sets, the sky behind Wat Arun usually bursts into a palette of breathtaking colors, and the temple's intricate facade becomes even more pronounced against the vibrant backdrop. Moreover, evenings are a great time to enjoy cooler temperatures. The temple remains open until 6:30 PM, so there is plenty of time to explore the grounds and the remarkable structure in the early evening. Additionally, the nighttime view of Wat Arun, when it is beautifully lit up, is also very spectacular; so consider a river cruise after dusk for this unique perspective.
