Best Time To Visit Yangpachen Hot Springs (Lhasa) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Yangpachen Hot Springs, Lhasa, China

Yangpachen Hot Springs are located approximately 87 kilometers north of Lhasa, in Tibet, China. These hot springs are famed for their picturesque setting amidst the high mountains and the relaxation they offer to visitors. The best time to visit this geothermal wonderland is generally during the late spring and summer months, from May to September. During this time, the weather in Lhasa is most favorable, with milder temperatures and a lower risk of sudden climate changes. Visiting during these months ensures that the surrounding landscapes are lush and that travel is not disrupted by the heavy snow that can occur in the winter season.

Moreover, in the summer, the high-altitude temperatures are comfortable enough for long soaks in the hot springs, complemented with breathtaking views of the nearby snow-capped mountains and clear blue skies. However, it is worth noting that July and August might bring the monsoon rains, which occasionally can cause travel disruptions, though these are often short-lived. The crowds during the peak tourist season in these months could be larger, so visiting in the shoulder months like May or September can offer a more serene experience. Regardless of the time you visit, ensure you are adequately prepared for high altitude conditions and respect the delicate ecosystem of the Tibetan plateau.
