The Yangpachen Hot Springs, located near Lhasa, is known for its geothermal energy and therapeutic hot springs. The food in this area is greatly influenced by Tibetan culture, which traditionally consists of ingredients that can withstand the harsh, high-altitude climate. Barley, dairy, and various root vegetables are staples here. Due to spiritual beliefs, the Tibetan diet historically excluded certain meats, and today still many Tibetans refrain from eating fish. Over the years, with the influx of tourists, the food culture has adapted to include more variety, incorporating influences from Chinese and other regional cuisines.
