Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple is a revered shrine located in the town of Amaravathi, in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, known here as Amaralingeswara or Amareswara, and it is situated along the southern bank of the Krishna River. According to legend, Lord Shiva was worshipped by the gods in the form of an Amareswara Linga at this site, hence the name. The temple boasts significant historical and religious significance, featuring intricate carvings and architecture that echo the Dravidian style. It is also associated with the Amaravathi Mahachaitya, a significant Buddhist site nearby, indicating the area's diverse cultural heritage.
