Anegudde Vinayaka Temple is a renowned pilgrimage center located in the village of Anegudde, which is part of the Udupi district in the state of Karnataka, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, known here as Siddhi Vinayaka or Sarvannarti Haraka (dispeller of all difficulties). According to mythology, it is one of the significant 'Mukti Sthalas' in Karnataka and is reputed as the 'Kumbashi of South India'. The deity here is believed to have emerged spontaneously (swayambhu) and is considered very powerful. Anegudde, in the local Tulu language, means 'elephant hill' suggestive of Lord Ganesha's association with the location. This temple is also one of the stops in the famous Parashurama Kshetra. Devotees visit Anegudde Vinayaka Temple in large numbers during the Sankashti Chaturthi, a popular festival held in honor of Lord Ganesha. The temple complex is adorned with intricate carvings and traditional South-Indian architectural styles, making it a significant cultural heritage site in the region.
