Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi, Karnataka, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple complex is also known as the Udupi Krishna Mutt and is famous for its unique form of worship where Lord Krishna is worshipped through a silver-plated window with nine holes, known as Navagraha Kitiki. The temple has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century, founded by the Vaishnavite saint Shri Madhvacharya. This sacred place is a significant center of the Dvaita philosophy. The temple complex also houses the mathas (monasteries) belonging to the Ashta Mathas of Udupi, which play a crucial role in the management and religious activities of the shrine. The intricate architecture, the rhythmic chanting and the divine atmosphere are a source of spiritual inspiration to devotees.
