The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, previously known as Bhashani Novo Theatre, is a planetarium located on Bijoy Sharani Avenue of Tejgaon area in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The theatre is named in honor of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was inaugurated on September 25, 2004, with the objective of creating a facility that could offer educational and entertaining astronomical shows. Additionally, it aims to enhance public understanding of science, especially astronomy. Equipped with modern technologies like a digital projection system to display virtual content, the planetarium features a 15-meter dome-shaped projection screen where visitors can observe stars, planets, and other celestial phenomena. Apart from the planetarium shows, the venue includes a museum, exhibits related to space and science, and a fully computerized telescope that allows for sky observation. The theatre is an iconic educational attraction that appeals to students, researchers, and anyone with a keen interest in astronomy and the wonders of the universe.
