How To Reach Beijing (China) In 2026 - 2027

Traveling to Beijing, China

By Air

The primary international gateway to Beijing is the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), which is one of the busiest airports in the world. Most international airlines operate flights to Beijing, connecting the city to various destinations across the globe.

Another airport that serves the region is Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), also known as the new Beijing airport. It has started to take over some of the international traffic and might be the port of arrival for some flights.

To book your flights, consider using popular airline search engines or contact travel agencies to find the best available connections and prices.

By Train

If you are already in China or coming from neighboring countries such as Russia or Mongolia, you can reach Beijing by train. Domestic high-speed rail networks connect Beijing with most major cities in China, such as Shanghai, Xi'an, and Guangzhou, with frequent and fast services.

Beijing has several major railway stations, including Beijing Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station, and Beijing West Railway Station. Ensure to check your ticket for the correct station.

By Road

Long-distance buses connect Beijing with other cities in China. The city has a number of bus stations, but the main hubs for long-distance travel are Liuliqiao Bus Station, Zhaogongkou Bus Station, and Beijing Capital Coach Station. Be aware that long-distance bus travel can be quite long and might not be as comfortable as taking the train.

Visa Requirements

Visitors to Beijing usually require a visa to enter China. Check with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country for the latest visa requirements and application procedures. Some travelers might be eligible for a 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit depending on their nationality, the passport they hold, and their onward travel plans.

Please Note: Travel requirements may change, so it is crucial to check the latest travel advisories and airline policies before planning your trip.
