Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary Tourism

Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the southern part of Bihar near Munger district, covers an area of around 682 sq km and is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. The terrain is hilly and is enveloped by the beautiful valleys of the Kharagpur hills. Bhimbandh is said to derive its name from a mythological dam built by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the epic Mahabharata. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, wild boars, sloth bears, and numerous species of birds. Several hot springs are also a unique feature of this sanctuary, with the most famous being Sita Kund. These springs are believed to have medicinal properties.
