Bijli Mahadev Temple is a sacred Hindu temple located in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its unique tradition, wherein the Shiva Lingam is struck by lightning (Bijli) and shatters into pieces. The temple priests then use butter to reassemble the Lingam, symbolizing the cycle of creation and destruction. To reach the temple, visitors must undertake a trek of about 3 km from the village of Chansari via a steep path that has stairs. The journey is not just a physical but also a spiritual experience, passing through lush forests and providing a tranquil atmosphere. Must visit when in Kullu
Awesome tracking experience. By mistake we took longer and not so common route and had to climb for 1 km. However the view from the top was worthwhile. Very calm and peaceful. Divine connection.
