Best Time To Visit Bijli Mahadev Temple (Kullu) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Bijli Mahadev Temple

The Bijli Mahadev Temple is located in the scenic Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh and is a revered site for Hindu pilgrims. The most favorable time to visit this sacred temple is during the summer months from April to June when the weather is pleasant and suitable for trekking. During this period, the temperature ranges between 10°C and 25°C, making it ideal for the hike to reach the temple and to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Another opportune moment to experience the temple in its full vibrancy is during the annual "Bijli Mahadev fair" which takes place in the month of July or August, coinciding with the Hindu festival of Shravan Mela. The fair is marked by a significant local celebration where the lingam is struck by lightning and the shattered pieces are bound together by the priest using butter and sattoo. However, visitors should be cautious of the monsoon season from July to mid-September when heavy rains can make the trek challenging and potentially risky. Therefore, it is advisable to check the weather forecast and plan your trip accordingly.
