The Great Himalayan National Park, situated in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh, India, is a pristine environment and biodiversity hotspot. It covers an area of 1,171 sq km, nestled between altitudes of 1500 and 6000 meters. The National Park offers exceptional views of lush valleys, craggy peaks, and flowing rivers. It was established in 1984 and later UNESCO inscribed it as a World Heritage site for its outstanding contribution to biodiversity conservation. The park encompasses ecosystems from tropical forests to alpine meadows, providing habitat for numerous flora and fauna, including the endangered Western Tragopan and Snow Leopard. It has more than 375 faunal species, which includes approximately 31 mammals, 181 birds, 9 amphibians, 11 annelids, 17 mollusks, and multiple species of insects. The park's remote and undisturbed forests are also an important water catchment area for the surrounding valleys.
