Best Time To Visit Dassam Falls (Ranchi) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Dassam Falls, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India

The ideal time to visit Dassam Falls in Ranchi, Jharkhand, is between the months of October and March. During this period, the weather is predominantly pleasant, which is a relief from the oppressive Indian summer and the heavy monsoon season. The temperature ranges from a comfortable 10°C to 25°C, making it perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the natural beauty of Dassam Falls without the discomfort of extreme heat or cold. The water flow in the falls is moderate post-monsoon, which usually subsides by October, offering a breathtaking and safe spectacle of crystal-clear water cascading down from a height of approximately 44 meters.

It is noteworthy to mention that the monsoon season, spanning from July to September, transforms the falls into a fierce torrent, which might be dangerous for visitors due to the increased water level and the slippery conditions of the surrounding area. However, for those who wish to witness the falls in their most majestic form, the monsoon period can provide an impressive view, but with extreme caution and preferably from a safe distance. The winter months, especially December and January, are the most recommended, as the fall’s serene ambience coupled with the lush greenery of the surrounding forests is at its zenith, offering a perfect picture-postcard backdrop for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
