Best Time To Visit Dhanushkodi Beach (Rameswaram) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Dhanushkodi Beach

The ideal period to visit Dhanushkodi Beach in Rameswaram is from October to February, during the cooler months of the year when the weather remains pleasant and conducive for touring. During this period, humidity levels are considerably low, and the temperature ranges from 20°C to 30°C, which is perfect for beach activities, exploring the remnants of the ghost town, and enjoying the serene atmosphere. It is also the best time for bird watchers to visit, as migrating birds are often sighted near the beach and in the surrounding areas. As this time coincides with the tourist season, it’s advisable to book accommodations in advance.

Monsoon season, from July to September, can also be a good time for those who don't mind occasional rainfall and want to avoid crowds. The region experiences moderate rainfall, which can make the atmosphere more beautiful and lush, but it is important to check the weather forecasts beforehand for any heavy rainfall which may cause disruptions. On the other hand, visiting in the summer months, from March to June, when temperatures can soar up to 35°C and the sun can be quite harsh, is generally not recommended, especially for outdoor activities. However, if you plan to visit during this off-peak season, you'll find fewer tourists and more tranquility, provided you stay well-hydrated and protected from the sun.
