About Elephant Safari
Kaziranga National Park, located in the Northeastern Indian state of Assam, is home to the world-famous elephant safari, which offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the park's wildlife up close. Spanning across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, the park's terrain consists of dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, marshland, and tall elephant grass, making it the perfect habitat for the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. Visitors on elephant safaris can also sight a variety of mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers, and bears, as well as exotic birds. The early morning rides, conducted by skilled mahouts, allow for serene and intimate encounters with the wildlife, as the gentle giants tread paths often inaccessible to vehicles. The park is a bio-diverse hotspot and has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
