Friendship Peak, standing at an impressive altitude of 5,289 meters above sea level, is one of the most sought-after trekking destinations in the Indian Himalayas, located in the beautiful Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The paramount time to visit Friendship Peak is during the summer months from May to June and then after the monsoon season in September and October. During these months, the weather conditions are most favorable as temperatures are moderate and the skies are clearer, which provides trekkers with safer conditions and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
The summer months bring about a burst of greenery and blooming flora in the region, making it not only an ideal time for climbing but also for photography and nature appreciation. On the other hand, September and October offer clearer skies post the monsoon rains, with less vegetation but a greater chance of uninterrupted views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. It is critical to avoid the monsoon season (July to August) due to heavy rains leading to slippery trails and potential landslides. Winters, from November to April, are harsh with heavy snowfall and are not recommended for trekking due to the high risk of avalanches and extremely cold temperatures.
