Gorichen Peak, located in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, stands as one of the highest peaks in the northeastern region of the country. At an impressive elevation of about 22,500 feet above sea level, it is often referred to as the 'Guardian of the North-Eastern Borders' because of its strategic location near the borders shared with Tibet. This majestic mountain is part of the Eastern Himalayan range and provides a challenging opportunity for trekkers and mountaineers. The local Monpa tribe considers Gorichen Peak sacred, believing it to be the abode of their deity. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rugged terrain, stunning alpine forests, and a variety of flora and fauna which include rare species endemic to this part of the Himalayas. The base camp for the ascent is usually set up at Jang, which is also the starting point for most expeditions to the peak.
