Sela Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Situated at an elevation of 13,700 feet, it is one of the most frequently used passes in the Eastern Himalayan region, connecting the Buddhist city of Tawang with the rest of India. The pass remains covered with snow throughout the year, which makes it a picturesque but challenging route. Near Sela Pass, the beautiful Sela Lake, also known as Paradise Lake, is a stunning sight to see, and it is considered sacred by the local people. From the pass, visitors can witness panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The Sela Pass holds significant strategic importance as well due to its proximity to the India-China border. It is a symbol of the resilience of the Indian Army as it was a battleground during the Indo-China War of 1962. The place is not just a haven for nature lovers and adventurers but also holds a special place in the hearts of Indian patriots.
