Green Park Stadium Tourism

Green Park Stadium, established in 1945, is one of the older cricket stadiums in India, located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It gets its name from the British lady Madam Green who used to come here for horse riding. The stadium is equipped with a host of facilities including floodlights for day-and-night matches and a seating capacity of around 33,000 spectators. Over the years, Green Park has hosted numerous historic cricket matches, including international Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 games. The stadium is under the jurisdiction of the Sports Department, Uttar Pradesh. The pitch at Green Park Stadium traditionally supports spinners and can make for some very intriguing contests between bat and ball. The unique feature of the stadium is that it has a student gallery, which is a rarity in India. The stadium is situated near the River Ganges, contributing to the ground's scenic beauty while also serving as a strategic location in the heart of Kanpur city.
