Best Time To Visit Guitar Island (Baratang Island) In 2026 - 2027
Best Time to Visit Guitar Island, Baratang Island
Guitar Island, one of the lesser-known gems of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is an idyllic destination for visitors seeking serenity and natural beauty. The island is shaped like a guitar, hence the name, and is known for its calm waters and lush surroundings. The best time to visit Guitar Island is during the North-East monsoon season, which is from November to May. This period offers the most pleasant weather, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C, making it ideal for beach activities, sightseeing, and water sports.
The months of November to February are particularly great, as the weather is at its best, with clearer skies and cooler breeze, which is perfect for exploring the island's picturesque landscape. Additionally, the calm sea during this period provides excellent opportunities for activities like snorkeling and sea walking, allowing visitors to explore the vibrant marine life of the Andaman Sea without the hindrance of rough tides. It's important to avoid the monsoon season from June to September, as the heavy rainfall can significantly disrupt travel plans and water-related activities, while also making sea journeys to the island potentially hazardous.
