Visitors can encounter a variety of wildlife, including sambar deer, leopards, and diverse birdlife. The park is also the catchment area for three major Sri Lankan rivers. Horton Plains provides an ethereal landscape with misty grasslands and stunning flora. The park offers well-maintained trails which lead to Baker's Falls and the aforementioned World's End, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It's recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing its significant ecological and geographical importance.
