Type of destination: Waterfall
Ideal visit duration: 1-2 hours
Lover's Leap Waterfall is a breathtaking cascade located in the scenic town of Nuwara Eliya, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, often referred to as 'Little England' due to its colonial-era bungalows, tudor-style hotels, and cool climate. The waterfall is fed by the Pidurutalagala mountain stream and plunges approximately 30 meters, creating a spectacular sight. Local legends say the name derives from an ancient tale of a prince and his lover who leapt off the cliff together, hence 'Lover's Leap'. The fall is situated amidst lush tea plantations and rocky boulders, providing visitors with a refreshing and serene atmosphere. A short trek through the tea gardens is required to reach the waterfall, which is also an excellent spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers eager to capture the beauty of the cascade and surrounding landscape. In addition to the natural splendor, tourists can explore the nearby Pedro Tea Estate, learn about tea production, and enjoy a warm cup of Ceylon tea.

Nothing special.
Nothing special. Not really a waterfall. Need to spend 2000-3000 rupees for the trip. And then need to hike to the spot. You need to be very physically fit to get there.
