Best Time To Visit Hundru Falls (Ranchi) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Hundru Falls in Ranchi, Jharkhand

Hundru Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls nestled in the heart of Jharkhand, is a popular tourist destination known for its breathtaking beauty. To experience the falls at their majestic best, the ideal time to visit is just after the monsoon season, from October to March. During these months, the monsoon rains have replenished the Subarnarekha River, causing the water to cascade down from a height of 98 meters with powerful force and splendor. The weather is relatively cooler and pleasant, which provides a comfortable condition for tourists to hike to the base of the falls and enjoy the surrounding lush greenery.

Visitors should avoid the summer months from April to June, as the scorching heat in the region can make the trek to the falls quite challenging. Moreover, the water level of the falls diminishes during this period, reducing the visual appeal of the waterfall. Monsoon season, extending from July to September, fills the falls with raging torrents, which can be dangerous for visitors due to slippery paths and strong currents. Therefore, planning your visit during the months when the climate is cooler and the waterfall flows with a steady yet safe stream ensures not only a safer experience but also provides an opportunity to witness the falls in their full glory, complemented by the vibrant ecosystem that thrives in the post-monsoon period.
