Hussain Sagar is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1563. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. Surrounding the lake, the area is a popular recreational zone with parks, temples, masjids, and eateries. People often visit for the boat ride to the statue, to enjoy the scenic view, and engage in leisure activities. Evenings at the lake are lively, with musical fountains and a light and sound show. Notably, the remarkable 16-kilometer long Necklace Road encircles the lake, providing an excellent track for walkers and joggers.
