International Arrival: The nearest international airport is Paro International Airport (PBH). Visitors can board a flight from various connecting countries like India, Nepal, Thailand, and Singapore.
From Paro to Punakha: Once you arrive in Paro, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Punakha. The distance is around 125 kilometers and the journey typically takes about 4 hours via Thimphu.
Punakha to Park Entrance: From Punakha, travel to the park's entrance. Public buses, taxis, or tour operatored vehicles can take you closer to the park entrance. However, once you are in the region, some parts of the park can only be accessed through trekking.
Trail Access: To truly experience the park, trekking is advised. There are multiple entry/exit points for trekking in the park such as the routes from Paro to Mount Jomolhari or the Gasa hot springs trek.
Visa: All international tourists, with the exception of visitors from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, need to obtain a visa to enter Bhans. It is advisable to apply for a visa well in advance.
