Best Time to Visit Keibul Lamjao National Park, Imphal, Manipur, India

The ideal time to visit Keibul Lamjao National Park in Imphal, Manipur, is between the months of October to March when the weather is most favorable. During this period, the climate is comfortable with a minimal amount of rainfall, making it perfect for wildlife watching and exploration of the park's unique ecosystem. This national park, known for being the only floating park in the world, shows its best colors with lush greenery and a vibrant display of flora and fauna.

Visiting during these months ensures that the park is accessible and the conditions are conducive for spotting the endangered sangai deer, also known as the Manipur brow-antlered deer, which is unique to this region. The pleasant weather also makes it easier to take boat rides through the Loktak Lake, which is a part of the park. Winter months particularly bring in migratory birds, thus making it an added attraction for birdwatchers. Higher water levels during the monsoons can make navigation through the park difficult, hence emphasizing the October to March window for the best visiting experience.
