Best Time To Visit Ko Phi Phi Don (Phi Phi Islands) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Ko Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Islands, Thailand

The ideal period to visit Ko Phi Phi Don, known for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, is during the dry season which typically runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is at its best with sunny days and minimal rainfall, making it the perfect environment for beach activities, snorkeling, and diving. The island's natural beauty is amplified with clear skies that allow breathtaking views of the turquoise sea and the limestone cliffs. Temperatures during this time are warm but comfortable, averaging around 24°C to 32°C (75°F to 90°F). However, this is also the peak tourist season, so it's advisable to book accommodations in advance to secure the best spots and deals.

It is less advisable to visit during the monsoon season from May to October when the island receives the most rainfall. The heavy downpours can be unpredictable and often lead to rough sea conditions, which may restrict boat travel to and from the island. Despite this, Ko Phi Phi Don remains open to tourists all year round and those who prefer a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere might find the shoulder months of May, October, or early November appealing. Prices tend to be lower during this time, and while there's a higher chance of rain, it's usually short bursts followed by sunny spells. These transitional periods are also great for visitors interested in witnessing the lush tropical landscapes after the rain, with fewer crowds and more competitive prices.
