How to Reach Ko Phi Phi Don
By Air and Boat
The nearest airport to the Phi Phi Islands is in Krabi. Another convenient airport is located in Phuket. From both of these airports, you can take a taxi or a bus to the respective piers. Here's what to do next:
From Krabi: Head to Klong Jirad Pier to take a ferry to Ko Phi Phi Don.
From Phuket: Make your way to Rassada Pier or Sea Angel Pier for ferries to the island.
Ferries usually operate daily and the journey takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours. Check for up-to-date schedules and book your ticket in advance.
By Bus and Boat
Travelers can also take a bus from various locations in Thailand to the Krabi or Phuket piers. From the piers, the onward journey is by ferry as mentioned above.
Private Boat Hire
For a more private and flexible trip, consider hiring a speedboat or a private longtail boat from Krabi or Phuket. It's more expensive but offers a direct route and can be personalized to your schedule.
Important Notes for Travelers
During peak season, ferries can be crowded; booking tickets in advance is wise.
Keep updated on weather conditions as they can affect boat schedules.
Always confirm the last ferry departure times to avoid being stranded.
There are no airports directly on Ko Phi Phi Don due to its protected nature status.
