1. Arriving in Krabi

Before heading to Koh Poda, you need to arrive at Krabi, which is the main gateway to the island. Krabi is well-connected domestically and internationally.

  • By Air: Fly into Krabi International Airport from various hubs within Thailand such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or international destinations.
  • By Bus: Numerous buses run to Krabi from Bangkok and other cities. The journey can take up to 10 hours from Bangkok.
  • By Train: There is no direct train to Krabi. The closest train station is in Trang or Surat Thani from where you can take a bus or taxi to Krabi.

2. Getting to Ao Nang or Railay Beach

From Krabi Town or the airport, you can take a taxi, bus or a songthaew (local open-air bus) to get to Ao Nang beach, which is the jumping-off point for boats to Koh Poda.

3. Taking a Boat to Koh Poda

Once you reach Ao Nang or Railay Beach, you can hire a longtail boat to Koh Poda.

  • Longtail Boat: You can either join a group or hire a private longtail boat. The ride takes about 25-30 minutes from Ao Nang and costs around 300-400 THB per person for a round trip if you join a group. Prices for private hires will be higher.
  • Speedboat: Speedboats are faster and more expensive, but they're a good option if you're short on time.
