• There are direct international flights from these cities, as well as from other regional countries.
• Domestic flights are available from Myanmar's largest city, Yangon, and other cities such as Naypyitaw and Heho (Inle Lake).

By Rail

The Myanmar Railways connects Mandalay with several cities across the country:

• Trains from Yangon to Mandalay take approximately 15 hours and offer a unique perspective of the rural countryside.
• There are sleeper and seated carriages available, but be prepared for a bumpy ride as the railways are quite old.

By River

The Ayeyarwady River offers another scenic route to Mandalay especially from Bagan:

• There are public boats and private cruises that sail to Mandalay, a journey that can offer remarkable views and an authentic experience.
• The river trip can take between one and two days, depending on the type of boat and water conditions.

When planning a trip to Mandalay, it's important to keep in mind the seasonal weather variations, check the local travel advisories, and ensure that you have the necessary visas and travel permissions as required by the government of Myanmar.
