Best Time To Visit Manipur Zoological Gardens (Imphal) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Manipur Zoological Gardens, Imphal, Manipur, India

The ideal time to visit the Manipur Zoological Gardens in Imphal is during the cooler months, which span from October to April. This period is highly recommended because the weather is pleasantly cool and you can comfortably explore the zoo without the discomfort of the scorching summer heat or the heavy monsoon rains. The zoo, being home to a variety of flora and fauna, offers a more enjoyable experience when the climate is temperate, as animals are more active and visible during these months.

Furthermore, during the winter season, especially around November, the gardens come to life as they play host to the annual celebration of Ningol Chakouba, a festival which symbolizes the strong bond between brothers and sisters in Manipur. This festivity not only showcases the cultural richness of the region but also offers a unique experience for visitors within the verdant environment of the Zoological Gardens. Thus, timing your visit to coincide with local cultural events can further enhance your experience, providing a blend of wildlife exploration and cultural immersion.
