Narwar Fort Tourism

Narwar Fort is a historical fort situated atop a hill in the Narwar town of Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, India. The fort is perched at an elevation of about 500 feet above the town and is known for its splendid architecture and rich history. Said to be related to the legend of Raja Nal of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the fort was later under various dynasties, including the Kachwaha Rajputs and the Marathas. This fort exemplifies a mix of Rajput and Muslim architectural styles resulting from the numerous modifications over centuries. Inside, one can find flat ceilings, multifoiled arches, and intricately carved pillars. It has three large gates – the Hathi Pol, the Badalgarh Gate, and the Nal Darwaza. Despite being in a state of ruin, Narwar Fort still conveys a sense of grandeur and provides a panoramic view of the town and surrounding countryside. It has numerous palaces and temples within its premises, including the Raja Mansingh Palace, which is the most notable structure.
