Best Time to Visit Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India

Nathdwara in Rajasthan is renowned for its temple of Shrinathji, an important pilgrimage for followers of the Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism. Given its location in the northwestern part of India, Nathdwara experiences typical climatic patterns of the region. The best time to plan a visit is during the winter months, from October to February. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool with temperatures ranging from a low of about 10°C to a high of around 28°C. This comfortable climate allows for a pleasant experience exploring this holy city without the extreme heat that can be felt in the summer months. The winter season is also a great time to partake in the various festivals and fairs held in Nathdwara, which are often celebrated with great fervor.

The peak pilgrimage season in Nathdwara coincides with major religious events such as Annakutta immediately after Diwali, and Holi in February or March, depending on the lunar calendar. However, visiting during these festivals requires early booking of accommodations due to the large influx of devotees. For visitors seeking a more serene experience, the period immediately following the peak festival season, or the onset of the winter season, can be ideal. Nevertheless, it's important to carry appropriate winter clothing for the cooler mornings and evenings. Avoid planning a trip during the monsoon (July to September) and summer (March to June) as heavy rains and scorching temperatures, sometimes soaring up to 42°C, can hinder travel plans and make temple visits less enjoyable.
