Ontimitta or Vontimitta Kodandarama Swamy Temple is a historically significant and graceful shrine located in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama and is renowned for its striking architecture, which is an exemplary piece of Vijayanagara style. Constructed in the 16th century, it features a single stone idol of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana, which is a unique aspect of the temple. According to legend, this idol was installed by Lord Rama himself and discovered by the saints Vontudu and Mittudu, from whom the place got its name. The temple's grandeur and spiritual aura draw numerous pilgrimages, particularly during the annual Sri Rama Navami festival, which celebrates the birth of Lord Rama. The architecture boasts of magnificently carved pillars, striking gopurams (towers), and an expansive courtyard. The Ontimitta temple, with its historical and religious significance, stands as a testament to the ancient craftsmanship and spiritual history of the region.
