Sri Venkateswara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Chittoor and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is named after Lord Venkateswara of the Tirumala Hills, which form a part of the sanctuary. This vast protected area, established in 1989, covers roughly 353 sq km and is known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes, including deep valleys, waterfall-laden terrains and, diverse flora and fauna. Visitors to the sanctuary can spot a multitude of species such as the endangered golden gecko, slender loris, and various bird species like the yellow-throated bulbul. The sanctuary is part of the Eastern Ghats and also houses the famous Seshachalam and Tirumala hills. It offers nature lovers the opportunity to experience trekking, bird watching, and exploring the natural world. The jungle safaris provide an insight into the lives of the wildlife including Indian giant squirrel, sambar, leopard, hyena and many more. Additionally, it is a place of religious significance due to the presence of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.
