Best Time To Visit Parasnath Hills (Bokaro Steel City) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Parasnath Hills, Bokaro Steel City

Visiting the Parasnath Hills, a prominent Jain pilgrimage site near Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand, India, is an experience that is best enjoyed during certain times of the year. If you're planning to soak in the spiritual atmosphere while enjoying pleasant weather, the ideal period to plan your trip is between October to March. During these months, the climate remains cool and comfortable with minimal rainfall, thus facilitating an enjoyable travel and sightseeing experience. The winter months, specifically, offer a refreshing ambiance, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C. Pilgrims and tourists can take part in the pilgrimage without the discomfort of the scorching heat that is typical of other times of the year. Plus, the serene and lush surroundings of the hills are most inviting during the post-monsoon and winter seasons.

However, visitors should be aware that December to February are the coldest months, and it's advisable to carry warm clothing if traveling during this period. Additionally, should you wish to partake in special religious festivities, consider timing your visit around Mahavir Jayanti, typically occurring in March or April. This is when the hills come alive with celebrations honoring Lord Mahavir, the most revered Tirthankara in Jainism. Although this festival falls slightly outside the recommended visitation period, for those interested in culture and religion, the event offers a profound insight into Jain traditions and practices. While the summer months, from April to June, can be exceedingly hot, with temperatures soaring up to 40°C, and the monsoon season, from July to September, can hinder outdoor activities due to heavy rainfall, the festive atmosphere during Mahavir Jayanti provides a unique experience that some may find worth the weather-related challenges.
