Best Time To Visit Parrot Island (Baratang Island) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Parrot Island, Baratang Island

Parrot Island, located near Baratang Island of the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago in India, is a spectacular destination known for its natural beauty and the unique phenomenon of parakeets and parrots flocking to the island every evening. The best time to visit Parrot Island is between October and April, when the weather is most favorable. During these months, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands enjoy a tropical climate with clear skies, mild temperatures, and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for sightseeing and boat rides to the island. The pleasant weather also enhances the chances of witnessing the mesmerizing sight of numerous parrots returning to the island at dusk.

Visitors must note that the monsoon season, which lasts from late May to September, is less suitable for travel due to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and rough seas that can hinder boat transportation. Furthermore, wildlife activities, including the parrots' evening ritual, can be less predictable during this period. For the best experience, consider planning your trip around the peak tourist season of December to February, when the island boasts comfortable weather, making it an ideal time for bird watching and exploring the natural attractions of Baratang Island, including the famous limestone caves and the Mud Volcano.
