Nestled approximately 150 kilometers away from Ahmedabad City, Polo Forest offers a tranquil escape to nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. My journey to this picturesque destination commenced in the early hours of a scorching summer morning, and although the weather was hot, the experience was nothing short of magical. The Drive and Arrival: The drive to Polo Forest took around three hours, and despite the challenging weather during summer, the early start allowed us to reach our destination by 7:30 am. The anticipation of exploring this hidden gem kept us motivated throughout the journey. Waterfall and Haranav Reservoir Dam: As I visited during the summer season, I expected the waterfall to be at its full glory. Unfortunately, the reduced water flow diminished some of its splendor. However, the nearby Haranav Reservoir Dam compensated for this disappointment with its impressive sight. The serene waters provided a soothing backdrop, perfect for unwinding and capturing some memorable photographs. Traversing Through Nature's Bounty: Driving along the verdant roads, where lush greenery enveloped both sides, was a refreshing experience in itself. The journey took a fascinating turn as we embarked on a trek through the forested paths. The trail led us to the top of a small hill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It felt as if we were cradled in the lap of nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Photography Paradise: Polo Forest proved to be a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The stunning vistas, vibrant flora, and rich wildlife provided countless opportunities to capture the essence of nature in its purest form. Every frame was a testament to the untamed beauty that this place had to offer. Discovering Ancient Temples: During the trek, we encountered two ancient temples steeped in history and architectural marvel. Hiring a Guide: To make the most of our adventure, we decided to hire a guide who was initially quoting 500 bucks for the service. However, after a friendly negotiation, we agreed upon 300 bucks. Limited Dining Options: One of the downsides of visiting Polo Forest is the absence of good restaurants nearby. While the landscape was nourishment for the soul, finding nourishment for the body was a bit of a challenge. However, we managed with snacks like Maggie and fruit juices available in the vicinity. Accommodation Options: For those planning an extended stay, there are several places to stay in Polo Forest that can be found online. However, considering the beauty of this place, I recommend visiting for a day trip or a weekend getaway, allowing you to explore the region at a relaxed pace. Best Time to Visit: While Polo Forest has its allure during all seasons, the monsoons and winters are considered the best time to explore this hidden gem. The landscape transforms into a lush green paradise during the monsoons, while the mild winters offer a pleasant climate for outdoor activities. Warm Hospitality: Lastly, the warmth and hospitality of the locals added a touch of comfort to our trip. People were friendly, willing to share stories, and offered assistance whenever needed. In conclusion, Polo Forest is a captivating destination that rejuvenates the soul and connects you with the marvels of nature. Despite the limited dining options, the abundance of natural beauty, trekking adventures, and historical wonders make it an ideal place for a memorable weekend drive and tour with family and friends.
